Ballymena Today are back to work and looking forward to an exciting 2015 in Ballymena. Are you back to work today? Back to school? Have you taken down the Christmas decorations and finished off the last of the Quality Street and Roses?

Well, what is next? Here are some things that we know people love about the New Year:

Put the decorations away and get the vacuum cleaner out – Nothing is more satisfying than returning your front room to its normal state with no massive tree blocking the window/door/sofa.

Get outdoors – With our cold crisp mornings January is the perfect time to wrap up warm and head out for a walk, run or just some peace and quiet. Head to Broughshane and enjoy the Buttermilk Bridge walk or to the Glens for some stunning scenery.

Make resolutions – The New Year is a great time to commit to achieving a new goal. Learn how to draw, work out more, volunteer to help others. The opportunities are endless and even if you break your resolution after a few months at least you had a go.

Get back to your normal routine – While we love getting time off over Christmas sometime the sitting around and eating is more exhausting than our everyday life. Why? Because we are out of our normal everyday routine.

Plan something to look forward to – January may be grey but that doesn’t mean that you cant start planning ahead. Investigate where you would like to have your summer holiday, plan a day out at the coast or book yourself some tickets for a show. The Out to Lunch Festival is currently running in Belfast and has lots of different acts to choose from which are sure to lift your spirits.

So, instead of letting the January blues get you down, take care of yourself and enjoy the new year. We at Ballymena Today think that 2015 is going to be great!
