The PKF-FPM Farming Support Roadshow returns to the CAFRE Greenmount Campus tomorrow night. Here are all the details that you need:

Farming Support Roadshow at Greenmount

Leading island based accountancy and business consultancy practice, PKF-FPM Accountants, together with CAFRE and supported by the Ulster Farmers’ Union, the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster and Rural Support have developed a roadshow of free seminars across all 6 counties of Northern Ireland offering farmers support and practical advice in the midst of what is believed to be the worst position and outlook in the agricultural sector for 50 years.

PKF-FPM aim to provide farmers with practical steps and options to address the challenges they are facing, assisting them to survive the short term and equip them to plan for the future with confidence.

As Thomas Jefferson states “Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals and happiness” However at this time when wealth and happiness are in short supply, farmers stand as Giants over the morality of our economy. PKF-FPM get this and seek to support the farming community in any way we can. (Source)

If you have booked a place at the roadshow then you are sure to get lots of great advice. We also want to take this opportunity to remind you that if you are facing difficulties, bankruptcy, loneliness or illness on your farm you can call Rural Support.

Rural Support was formed as a charity in 2002. At that time, the Foot and Mouth epidemic was having a severe impact on farmers and on the rural community as a whole. There was evidence of distress within the rural community and the need for a support service was identified.

The organisation provides this support through a helpline which offers a listening and signposting service for farmers and rural families. Callers to the helpline are of all ages and backgrounds and come from every part of Northern Ireland.

The types of issues that we address include emotional distress, suicide risk, financial problems, inheritance issues, physical and mental health, farming paperwork and bureaucracy.
