Mid and East Antrim Borough council, through our Good Relations Programme, are hosting The Messines Story. The Braid in Ballymena will host an evening of reflection which looks at the shared history around the Battle of Messines, respectfully remembering key historical events from 100 years ago.
The Messines Story – Ballymena
This is set to be an enthralling event, including a local community performance set in 1917, telling the story of Private John Meeke MM and Major William Redmond. It also includes a panel based exhibition which looks at local stories from the Battles of Messines and Passchendaele.
The event is free and starts at 7pm on Tuesday 28th November. A great event for those who are interested in history and the Battle of Messines.
