Our third Ballymena Today book club title is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by writer Mark Haddon. It is a unique, mystery story which uses a clever narrative and hook to keep you reading.

So far in the Ballymena Today book club we have enjoyed crime thriller Big Little Lies, and memoir When Breath becomes Air. If you joined us then I hope that you loved both books. The Curious Incident of the Dog at Night time is completely different but equally of interest.

The aim of the Ballymena Today Book Club is simple – we want people to join together for a cuppa and a chat. Hopefully the book will give you plenty to talk about. Also we woudl love it if you met in a local cafe, or coffee shop- therefore supporting our local Ballymena businesses at the same time. Its a win-win.

So how does this work then?

It’s simple;

  • Grab the book – download it to your Kindle, iPad or table – or pick up a copy from Waterstones in Ballymena.
  • Read the book – You have 4 weeks to get stuck into it.
  • Keep an eye on our blog, instagram and facebook page – at the end of July we will be publishing our Curious Incident of the Dog at Night time discussion guide.
  • Grab your friends and meet up – Our biggest wish would be that you and your book clubbers would meet up in a local Ballymena coffee shop. Enjoy a coffee and a little treat as you discuss our book club questions.
  • Or get involved with our online community – If your friends aren’t readers then don’t worry, you can still be a part of our online community. Drop a comment and let us know what you thought of the book.

Lets read this together and please stay tuned to Ballymena.Today because we will be writing articles and blog post relating to the themes and storylines in the book.
