A date for your diary – Voiceworks NI present West Side Story, The Musical in The Braid Arts Centre, Ballymena from 7th – 10th August 2019.
‘Voiceworks NI bring their seventh musical to the Braid Theatre. West Side Story is a musical in which a modern day Romeo and Juliet are involved in New York street gangs. On the harsh streets of the upper west side, two gangs battle for control of the turf. The situation becomes complicated when a gang members falls in love with a rival’s sister. This is a musical not to be missed!’
Jordan McKane, Assistant Director and Producer, told us,
“This summer, Voiceworks NI will be presenting West Side Story, The Musical at the Braid Arts Centre, Ballymena. This will be the result of a two-week intensive cross-community programme for kids aged 13-19, with a range of abilities. The core aim of Voiceworks is to release the creative potential of young people through the exploration of drama, dance and music, as well as giving them the opportunity to perform on a professional stage. We are a small community project and so we would love the Ballymena community to come and support us as we bring West Side Story to The Braid.”
