Northern Ireland – 5 Locations make top 100 list

No fewer than five locations in Northern Ireland made it into a list of the top 100 geographical location in the Uk and Ireland. The Geological Society of London compiled the list and here are the Northern Irish winners!

The Giants Causeway – an obvious choice because it is spectacular – even in the rain!

Loughareema – described by the Geological Society of London an “ephemeral lake that fills and empties with relative rapidness”.

Local Ballymena holiday favourite – Portrush made it on to the list too.

and finally the Marble Arch caves, in County Fermanagh. No school experience was complete without a trip to the Marble Arch Caves.

Three out of five of the Northern Ireland entries were all from County Antrim and not too far from out home town of Ballymena. We feel a road trip is in order and a visit to all these beautiful Northern Ireland locations.
