Portglenone Community Rescue Service

Portglenone Community Rescue Service have been busy at the start of 2016. We are only a few days into the year and the team have already offered invaluable support in missing persons cases. This is what they recent posted on their Facebook page.

2016 starts out busy for the volunteers of the CRS.

On Sunday (3/1) members of the CRS and Foyle Search and Rescue joined forces to take part in planned searches for a person missing from Derry since November. Teams were joined by a large number of volunteer members of the public. FSAR and CRS water teams were also deployed to search local water courses. Teams were stood down at 1630 with no conclusion to the search.
On Sunday night, CRS teams from Coleraine, Ballymoney and Portglenone were deployed to search for a person missing from then Coleraine area. The missing person was eventually located safe and well some miles from the search area.
In the early hours of Monday (4/1) teams from Coleraine were tasked in response to reports of a person needing assistance in the Portstewart area. Teams were stood down following searches with nothing found.
