Yesterday’s Gone by Loyle Carner – Music Tuesday

My working day is always accompanied by music and I like to keep up to date with new music as much as possible. During January I listened to Yesterday’s Gone by Loyle Carner a lot.

The Guardian have called it a ‘startling debut’ here.

This record has bundles of warmth, a welcoming way to begin 2017. In a world of uncertainty and neagitive news, this collection of songs has made me smile often in January.

The album artwork is a lovely nod towards the importance of family and community with it’s group photo and beaming smiles. This sense of togetherness is reflected in the music often, tales of everyday life, nostalgia and family make this an intimate and fascinating listen. An open and honest reflection on life delivered through art – like this – offers a glimmer of light in our superficial world. Check it out.

It was my album of the month for January 2017.
