August Book Club – Ballymena

Ballymena Waterstones Book Club will be tackling two summer reads at their next meeting on Wednesday 6th August. The Ballymena book group normally meet on the first Wednesday of every month but have taken July off for summer and return in August with two great books to discuss. If you have read one book or are just a reader who wants to come along and meet others who love books then please feel free to come along. Here are the books which will be discussed at the August book club in Ballymena; “Don’t Point that thing at me” by Kyril Bonfiglioli is a crime caper. It is funny and perfect for those who fancy a light hearted crime comedy rather than something dark and gritty. We are sure it will provoke lots of conversation. The second book which the book club will be enjoying is “TransAlantic” by Irish author Colum McCann. This is a beautiful historical saga which spans a century in Ireland and America. The award winning author writes lyrically and is entertaining as several plots connect. Just don’t give up on this one before you get to the twist! This is a meaty book which avid readers will love.  If you are looking for a book club or just an entertaining read then these suggestions should keep you going for a while. September Book: “I know why the caged bird...
