Annual Ballymena Easter Egg Run

The Annual Ballymena Easter Egg Run will be celebrating its 21st year this year. For twenty one years motorcyclists from Ballymena and beyond have joined together for a trip which also raises funds for deserving charities. The ride will take place on Sunday 29th March 2015 and will be in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care. Annual Ballymena Easter Egg Run The Annual Ballymena Easter Egg Run starts from the Downtown Furniture carpark in Pennybridge industrial estate at 1.30pm. The group then follow a scenic ride past Slemish and through the Glens towards Carnlough and then returning to the Ballymena Showgrounds for refreshments. There will be a raffle with the chance to win lots of prizes. Portglenone Community Rescue Service

Portglenone Community Rescue Service provide an invaluable service providing rural and urban search, water rescue and community support and education. Based in Portglenone, they work throughout Northern Ireland. They rely upon volunteers who are trained by team members and are on call for any emergency. Portglenone host Community Rescue Service training

Last month Portglenone Marina hosted members of the Community Rescue Service from Belfast and Antrim units, who were taking part in Boat Crew training. The Community Rescue service are volunteers who provide support for searches and water rescue. The training day involved all aspects of boat safety and line handling enabling the crew to operate safely and effectively in the marine environment. Well done to everyone who took part.
