ty to bring items for discussion
firstly to their form class, then to
the respective councils. There
was some very inventive canvass-
ing e.g. video blogs and manifes-
tos presented on PowerPoint
showing the commitment to serv-
ing the class and the school in this
important leadership role.
Stormont Visit
One of the highlights of the year
for our young elected representa-
tives was a tour of Parliament
Buildings. Whilst there, pupils
learnt about our system of gov-
ernment in Northern Ireland and
engaged in a mock debate in the
chamber with the motion being
‘’ban school uniform’’. Both
‘sides’ debated excellently, and
the outcome of the vote pro-
nounced that school uniform
should be kept! We were visited
by local MP Paul Frew .
