Aspiring Authors in the Class-
room
Inspired by Mr Boyd’s story-
telling and writing, 8L1 wrote
dramatic action-adventure sto-
ries. A key part of literacy is be-
ing able to review your work to
evaluate how successful you
have been in getting your mes-
sage across, and of course, mak-
ing the necessary improve-
ments. Sometimes this can
mean taking a blank page and
starting again. 8L1 pupils used
Mr Boyd’s drafting approach as
a model to improve their own
writing. They read their work to
their group and took feedback
before producing a second
draft. Pupils enjoyed sharing
their
writing.
