World Maths Day
Several of our junior classes par-
ticipated in World Maths Day on
14th March. They competed
online against pupils from
across the globe to see who
could answer the most mental
maths questions in a minute.
Several pupils accrued enough
points to secure World Maths
Day certificates. These included
Ben Peacocke, Joshua
McClintock, Curtis Kennedy,
Robert McConnell and Tyree
Carley.
Collaboration
In October we welcomed a
group of Year 8 pupils from St.
Patrick’s College, who joined
forces with our 8M1 class to
tackle a Halloween themed
maths relay. Teams worked to-
gether to tackle 16 relay ques-
tions of increasing difficulty. The
winning team successfully an-
swered 12 out of the 16. We also
welcomed a guest speaker from
Danske Bank to speak to the
group about different and rele-
vant aspects of financial capabil-
ity.
Open Night
Mr Crooks made his annual trip to
local primary schools as he pre-
sented some prizes for our Open
Night competitions. The winners
came from Moorfields, Camphill,
Gracehill, Carniny and Ballymena
Primary.
