The Big Splash began about 20 years ago and has grown year by year to become The Big Splash Triathlon and River Festival which is now into its 6th year.

Set in the picturesque village of Portglenone Co.Antrim on the bank of the River Bann. The Big Splash River Festival prides itself in organising a family fun packed week long series of events. All of which are organised by committee members at our headquarters in the Portglenone Enterprise Group.

We are proudly sponsored and supported by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council and Waterways Ireland. Without the help of our sponsors we would not be able to put such a successful festival each year and this years events are promising to be the best so far…

The Big Splash also has planned another Triathlon which will run on Saturday 25th July. This is classed as a sprint distance triathlon. Which includes a 750metre swim (in the River Bann), then followed by a 12mile cycle and then its finished off with a 3 mile run.To enter the Triathlon you must apply online, as entries cannot be taken on the day and you will need a One Day Licence from Triathlon Ireland.
