Ballymena Photographer Wows with Wedding Photo

Congratulations to Ballymena wedding photographer Steven Hanna who won a WedAward with this dramatic photograph. This incredible picture was taken in Lanzarote at the wedding of Rachel and Al and we are sure that it blew the socks off the judges. Ballymena Photographer Wows with Wedding Photo Did you know that you can book Steven to take photographs at your Northern Ireland wedding or if your wedding is further afield. Destination weddings are very popular and even though Steven didn’t know the area as well as he knows Ireland he still was able to scout out the perfect location...

Santa comes to Raceview Mill Market – Broughshane

This weekend Broughshane will be hosting a very special guest at Raceview Mill Market. Santa Claus himself will be out to enjoy the Market on Saturday 12th December. Santa comes to Raceview Mill Market in Broughshane Raceview is an old woollen mill, dating back to 1806. It fell derelict and was sold for demolition in 2013. Throughout the years the mill was a major source of employment. The most recent occupier was the Patton Construction Group who used it as workshops, customer sales areas offices, canteens and even an indoor football pitch and recreation area. The new owner, a landscape photographer and artist, decided instead of demolition to create a fusion between an arts and crafts village, an affordable business park for fledgling businesses AND a tourist attraction. This is a unique idea in Northern Ireland. An ugly empty space at the entrance is now an attractive village street, complete with a red village pump, offices for creative professionals, a quirky coffee shop and a large art gallery/event space. (Source) So make sure that you bring your little ones along when Santa comes to Raceview Mill Market in Broughshane to meet his jolly friend in his workshop! Also to top it off they have their Christmas Market taking place tomorrow with over 75 stalls. This is the perfect place to pick up a unique, beautiful or tasty stocking filler while supporting...

Music Tuesday – Christmas Songs we actually enjoy

At Ballymena Today we feel like our Music Tuesday blog posts have introduced some of our readers to some home grown musicians and showcased some excellent talent. Today however our artist doesn’t really need an introduction from us – it is the one and only Van Morrison. The Belfast born singer has cheered us up on this gloomy day because we have been listening to his classic album Moondance and are especially enjoying “Glad Tidings”. In a world where we will undoubtedly be forced to listen to the same old Christmas hits in every supermarket, shop and car we are...

MCC Computers Internet Security

MCC Computers Internet Security Centre tell us they have been getting busier recently, and we’ve all heard the news stories, read comments on social media and so on where people have been scammed, had their Facebook page hacked, opened an email only to realise it was from an unscrupulous source, etc, so it’s probably no surprise that they’re busy. The internet is brilliant but it can bring it’s fair share of worry if you happen to be the unlucky one who realises that something’s not quite right with the way your computer is behaving. We can’t do much about it when it’s someone else’s responsibility to keep our details secure but when it comes to our own computers, tablets and phones there is lots we can do to protect our equipment, but we’ll generally not be able to do that ourselves. That’s where local Galgorm based MCC Computers can help. Probably most of us know someone who has had a bit of an internet scare so we called with these guys to see how they can help bring some peace of mind. They have been in the computer business for many years and are well aware of the many threats and scams which are around. That’s why for MCC Computers internet security is something they take seriously and their Internet Security Centre is now a place where you call in to...
