Ballymena postcard from 1924 – Throwback Thursday

This Ballymena Postcard was sent in 1924 and has been generously shared with Ballymena Today by reader Pamela from Ballyclare. Pamela picked this up at a Vintage Postcard Fair and we think that it is lovely! Ballymena postcard from 1924 – Throwback Thursday The card was sent to Miss M. Buntun of Hartwell Street in Belfast and featured a stamp that cost a penny and features King George. It shows signs of a little wear and tear but has obviously been treasured over the years.    The message says “I am having a good time here. I am keeping well. Tell all at home I was asking for them. From Aunt May” . Good to know that in the 20’s folks enjoyed their holidays in Ballymena! Thank to Pamela for sharing this brilliant Ballymena themed throwback Thursday. If you have any Ballymena themed historical finds or antiques which you think others would love to see just send us a picture and we will feature it here at the Ballymena Today blog. We are sure that there are lots of interesting articles out there just like this postcard or this Vintage Autograph book which we featured here at Ballymena Today earlier this...

We offer practical and emotional support working with children and young people that are at risk of underachieving in school. Our aim is to re-engage them in education and learning by providing practical resources and educational support. We provide a safe place to learn, free from violence, abuse and threat. We need your help… The Make It Better projects costs approx. £150,000 per year to run, and to continue providing these services to children and young people we need to raise enough funds to sustain this project every year.
