Grillagh Water House – Northern Ireland

If you have watched the latest series of Grand Designs on C4 you might have seen Northern Ireland architect Patrick Bradley, from Maghera showcase his new home – Grillagh Water House. Bradley designed a contemporary living space which if built using traditional methods would have requires lots of expensive steelwork. We love the architects problem solving approach who, instead of opting for a cheaper more traditional design, looked for an alternative to steelwork beams and opted for four shipping containers. School Painting and decorating by D Robinson and Son

Painter and decorator team D Robinson and Son took on several school painting contracts during the summer. The schools were painted, wallpapered and refreshed before the pupil and staff returned at the start of the school term in September. Each school provided its own unique challenged from high stairwells to multiple surfaces. Above shows Hillcroft Special Needs School who used bright colours and textured wallpaper throughout. Slemish Design Studio who are based in Ballymena have been featured in Architectural magazine SelfBuild Ireland. Steven Bell and Joseph Magill are the men behind the thriving architectural business. They have relocated recently to the Raceview Mill complex in the village of Broughshane. The old mill in Broughshane had been abandoned and was in a state of disrepair before a team took on the task of regenerating the area.
