Ballymena Barber Shop | Finalists At NI Hair And Beauty Awards

Ballymena barber shop, The Wellington Barber, were finalists at the NI Hair and Beauty Awards which was held recently in Belfast. It’s great to see small Ballymena businesses getting recognised for putting lots of effort & hard work into constantly improving the service and products they offer their customers. The Wellington Barber was one of 7 finalists in the Best Barber Shop category from all across Northern Ireland having been selected by public nomination. This is a great achievement for a very young business – only opened 7 months ago, but Stephen Browne and the team have been building their reputation as a place where you get a great haircut, beard trim or shave while at the same time having a bit of banter! Ballymena barber shop, The Wellington Barber – finalists at the NI Hair and Beauty Awards. So for the team from this Ballymena barber shop it was a trip to the Europa Hotel in Belfast to join lots of other barbers, hairdressers, nail technicians, beauty therapists and spa owners from all over the province as the awards were handed out. Attending the night was Suzanne Jackson, the well known fashion blogger and the charity partner was the ‘Make A Wish’ charity. Meanwhile the party’s over and it’s back to work in Ballymena for The Wellington Barber team. They’re now excited about the next event they’re running on 18th October...

Culture Night Ballymena

Yesterday we blogged about Culture Night Belfast and how it had got our Ballymena Today team thinking… Culture Night Ballymena doesn’t exist just yet. We aren’t completely sure how our conversations and ideas will evolve but when we do know something we will make a loud noise. In a nutshell we would love to see Culture Night take over the streets of Ballymena but, we have lots to discuss first. We don’t even know if it’s possible… Here’s what we do know… Ballymena is small compared to Belfast. This would obviously be reflected in the development of Culture Night Ballymena. Belfast should always be bigger, better and more varied, it is our capital city here in Northern Ireland and we love how Belfast has been evolving in recent years. Culture is made there… But what about Culture Night Ballymena? Ballymena has a rich cultural diversity that stretches across businesses, organisations and community groups. Here on Ballymena Today we regularly highlight a broad range of what goes on around our town. As we have evolved here at Ballymena Today we have often been super excited and encouraged by the eclectic mix of community and culture in our town. As we said above; We would love to see Culture Night take over the streets of Ballymena but, we have lots to discuss first. We don’t even know if it’s possible… We...
