Paddington Bear arrives at Ballymena Central Library

Padding Bear is a favourite among children and adults. Ballymena Central Library have responded to the success of the latest Paddington Bear movie by providing lots of stories about the bear for library goers to lend. If your kids adored the film or you just would like to encourage you kids to read a new series of fun books then grab a Paddington Bear story now. Paddington Bear was created by author Michael Bond and the first story was released in 1958. The Paddinton stories were his most famous by far telling the story of this bear from “Darkest Peru”, who is sent to England by his Aunt Lucy, carrying nothing but a suitcase full of marmalade. Arriving at Paddington Station he was taken in by the Brown Family who also named him Paddington. The Paddington Bear website says that; “In total, more than 150 titles have been published in a variety of formats ranging from the original novels, which appeal to all ages, right through to board books aimed at Paddington’s very youngest fans. Many of the books have been translated and some of the stories have been published in over 40 different languages.” We are sure that these charming stories are set to be family favourites for many years to come, in Ballymena and farther afield. Ballymena Braid Film theatre is set to host a screening of “Boyhood”. “Boyhood” is a film which is completely unique because of the way it has been filmed. Sensory Kids Bowen Technique evening

Sensory Kids in Broughshane, outside Ballymena, will be hosting an evening focusing on the Bowen technique. Shannon Maybin from the Slemish Treatment Room will visit on Wednesday 28th January 2015 at 7.30pm in Broughshane House. Shannon will be telling us about the Bowen Technique and its suitability for children with Cerebral Palsy, Asperger’s Syndrome, ASD, ADHD and other delayed development and learning difficulties.
