Some of you will know that as well as being part of the Ballymena Today team, I also orchestrate the Northern Ireland & Ireland Coffee Community at From time to time as part of our teams desire to connect communities that we are all involved with, I will bring some updates from the coffee community in Northern Ireland. As a team we will also work to do this with other communities and interest groups in Ballymena and farther afield.

At the end of last week we shared a unique discount promo code on Coffee N/Ireland that will get you a reduction on the price of tickets for the Dublin Coffee & Tea Festival. See the post & get the code here. This is the first ever Dublin Coffee & Tea Festival and will feature loads of wonderful coffee, tea & food related experiences over the weekend of 12-14th September. Do you work in the food industry? Are you a Coffee shop owner? Barista? Or maybe you would love to work in Coffee? The festival promises to be a really helpful and informative weekend of events and loads of important people from the coffee community right across Ireland and the UK will be in attendance. We can’t wait!

Check out their website here.

At the weekend I also blogged about having spent an evening listening to the wit and wisdom of two coffee heroes of ours. Steve Leighton from Hasbean and Colin Harmon from 3fe [pictured above] kept a crowd of 60+ people entertained on Friday evening with their own personal coffee stories and lots of fascinating dialogue about the coffee industry. The event was held in Established Coffee in Belfast, one of our favourite coffee shops in the land. I think we were all amazed and equally excited that so many people gave up a Friday evening to come and listen to two men talk about coffee. If you are looking for amazing coffee, check out all of the above… you will not be disappointed.

People in Ballymena love coffee, that’s a fact. As well as all of the amazing people above, check out our local friends at Ground Espresso Bars, The Creamery Can and He-Brews Coffee House for great coffee in the Ballymena area… and, also for a masterclass in building and maintaining an online community of followers. Beautiful stuff eh?
