In Ballymena it needs to be really warm before our mothers let us out without our jackets, so we are excited about the new jacket trends which have proved popular this year.

The good thing about a jacket is that one you buy it, if you choose right, it can be incorporated in lots of the outfits which you already own.

The Bomber Jacket.

The military green bomber jacket has already been a sell out piece for high street stores like Zara and Topshop. We can see why. The shape allow it to be slipped easily over every thing from a vest and shorts to a maxi dress. Lighter than our usual black leather biker jacket (keep that for Autumn), yet substantial enough to make us feel covered up when the sky clouds over.

This Jacket is from Topshop and is perfect in colour and proportion.

The Wearable Bomber Jacket.

If this feels too trendy for you then Marks and Spencer have a very wearable version in a fresh pastel pink. We love that this jacket is light and it would look amazing with light blue denims or navy. Mark and Spencers do a great job of interpreting high fashion trends into really good wearable items. This jacket has a simple shape and because it is from M&S we know that it will wear and wash well.

hmprodThe Patterned Bomber Jacket.

The bomber jacket is alternatively something which can be a statement piece in your wardrobe. This bomber jacket has the on trend bomber shape but a quirky, beautiful print. We love the rich colours and think that this looks very hi fashion. We would pair this jacket with a classic pair of black flares, or sling it casually over our little black dress. This patterned bomber jacket is from H&M and is a jacket which you will be able to bring out year after year and it will still have the wow factor. Team with minimal gold accessories. So which one would you go for? The bloggers favourite in military green, something in a candy colour of an outrageous print which will make heads turn?

We know one thing for sure, and that it that the bomber jacket is the most practical fashion jacket to slip into your wardrobe this summer. Here at Ballymena Today we are currently choosing between all three bomber jackets!
