Who caught the BAFTA’s on Sunday night? We missed it but were very excited to see actress Eileen O’Higgins wearing Belfast fashion designer Shauna Fay. The red dress stood out on the Red Carpet as the Brooklyn Actress posed with her co-star Saoirse Ronan.

Eileen O’Higgins played Nancy is the BAFTA nominated film Brooklyn. Brooklyn was written by Irish Author Colm Tóibín and follows a young Irish immigrant as she begins her new life in America.

Shauna Fay specialises in bridal and occasion wear, and focuses on one-off commissions and designs. She has her own designer shop in Spires in Belfast which showcases her beautiful designs. Shauna’s journey began with a foundation diploma in art at Newry Institute of Further and Higher Education after which she went on to study fashion management at Belfast Metropolitan College. While there offered a placement with designer Mary Rose McGrath which gave her invaluable experience in the fashion industry.

Her stunning red dress stood out at the BAFTA’s among the predominately black and white dresses worn by others. A few other wore red dresses including Dakota Johnston and Emilia Clarke meaning that the dress was on trend and a scene stealer.

Here are some snaps which Shauna shared on her Facebook page.

Congratulations to Shauna for showcasing her beautiful designer dress at the BAFTA’s, it is so exciting to see a great Northern Irish talent getting some well deserved recognition. Click here to see more work by Shauna Fay.
