There are several artists who will paint your pet portraits in Ballymena. We caught up with one of them, LL Crafts in Galgorm, to find out more. For everyone who owns a pet we don’t need to tell you how much they become part of the family with many pet owners deciding to get a portrait painted.

Pet Portraits in Ballymena | LL Crafts

We called with Louise Lester (BA Hons) of Galgorm based art business LL Crafts to see what’s involved. Here’s what the Ballymena artist had to say.

“I have painted lots of pet portraits over the years. They are the perfect gift for all pet lovers out there! Sometimes I’m asked to paint them as a gift for a family member or friend, other times it’s simply because the owner wants it for themselves. Sometimes it’s because a beloved pet has passed away and the owners want a beautiful memento. When I’m commissioned to do a pet portrait I offer a choice of either colour painting onto paper or canvas. Also you can choose to have a graphite pencil sketch on paper.

There’s no need to worry about your dog or cat not sitting while the portrait is done. I’m quite happy to work from a photograph. This can be posted or emailed to me or you can visit my studio display room in Galgorm. (by appointment only please) Your artwork can be ordered in various sizes and at various price points. So hopefully I can produce a portrait of your pet to suit your style and pocket!”

Louise and LL Crafts are very active on lots of social media sites where you can see loads of her work. Check out her Facebook page here. If you use Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest look out for her work there too.
